  1.                      The Cons of Abortion
  2.  
  3.      The issue of abortion has our country split between the
  4.  
  5. Pro-Choice (pro-death) people and the Pro-Life people.  The
  6.  
  7. dictionary defines abortion as "A miscarriage produced
  8.  
  9. artificially."
  10.  
  11.  
  12.      Abortion has been known to be practiced as long as
  13.  
  14. people can remember.  Even prostitutes in Bible times
  15.  
  16. performed abortions to get rid of unwanted pregnancies.  In
  17.  
  18. the United States abortion was illegal until the Supreme
  19.  
  20. Court legalized it with the case of Roe v. Wade.  That
  21.  
  22. decision was the official starting point of the Pro-Choice
  23.  
  24. and Pro-Life conflict.
  25.  
  26.      There are many reasons why a woman should not have an
  27.  
  28. abortion.  Many women chose not to have one because of
  29.  
  30. religious reasons.  An abortion is killing a baby (fetus),
  31.  
  32. and the Bible has a lot to say about that.  In Exodus 20:13
  33.  
  34. and Deuteronomy 5:17 the Bible says "Thou shalt not kill."
  35.  
  36. That is pretty cut and dry, although the Pro-choicers try to
  37.  
  38. say that life begins at birth, when it really begins at the
  39.  
  40. moment of conception.  The Lord tells the women of the world
  41.  
  42. that they should take care of the baby in their wombs in
  43.  
  44. Isaiah 49:15 with the passage, "Can a woman forget her
  45.  
  46. sucking child, that she should not have compassion on her son
  47.  
  48. in her womb?  yea, they may forget, yet I will not forget
  49.  
  50. thee," and again by saying, "Before I formed thee in the
  51.  
  52. belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the
  53.  
  54. womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto
  55.  
  56. the nations," in Jeremiah 1:5.
  57.  
  58.      Aside from the religious sins that you will be held
  59.  
  60. accountable for if you do not ask for forgiveness through
  61.  
  62. Christ, there are many physical risks a woman takes when
  63.  
  64. going through an abortion.  An abortion is the most often
  65.  
  66. performed surgical procedure in the United States, and yet it
  67.  
  68. is the only operation that the government does not force to
  69.  
  70. doctors to tell the patient exactly what is going to happen.
  71.  
  72.      Seventy-seven per cent of all the women that go through
  73.  
  74. an abortion for genetic reasons go through an acute grief
  75.  
  76. reaction.  This is a sort of depression following the
  77.  
  78. abortion.  On the same lines, half of all women that have had
  79.  
  80. an abortion go through some type of emotional or
  81.  
  82. psychological disturbance.  These disturbances can last for
  83.  
  84. months, and they include things like depression, insomnia,
  85.  
  86. nervousness, guilt, and regret.
  87.  
  88.      Many women feel as if they can have an abortion now, and
  89.  
  90. have a child in the future when they are more ready.  This
  91.  
  92. may not always be possible.  One quarter of all the abortion
  93.  
  94. patients have some type of major complication in a future
  95.  
  96. pregnancy.  Many women suffer from excessive bleeding,
  97.  
  98. premature delivery, cervical damage, and/or sterility.  A
  99.  
  100. miscarriage can be devastating to a woman, but unfortunately
  101.  
  102. one out of every six woman have a miscarriage in their next
  103.  
  104. pregnancy due to the cervical damage which occurred during
  105.  
  106. the abortion process.
  107.

  109.  
  110.      Even if a woman were to defeat the odds, and to get by
  111.  
  112. all of the previously mentioned complications, she would
  113.  
  114. still have a tough battle with the possible side effects that
  115.  
  116. are often associated with abortion patients.
  117.  
  118.      An inflammatory, known as Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
  119.  
  120. (PID) occurs in many first-trimester abortions.  This disease
  121.  
  122. is a bacterial infection, and must be treated quickly.  When
  123.  
  124. a younger woman gets PID she is more likely to have a tubal
  125.  
  126. pregnancy than a woman who never had the disease.  Also,
  127.  
  128. women in general are 30% likely to have tubal pregnancies
  129.  
  130. after the have had an abortion.  Women that have had two or
  131.  
  132. more abortions face a staggering 160% higher risk of having a
  133.  
  134. tubal pregnancy.  Breast cancer is 140% more likely in a
  135.  
  136. woman that has had an abortion over one that has not.
  137.  
  138.      Women that have had abortions greatly harm future
  139.  
  140. placentas.  A woman can get what is known as placenta previa,
  141.  
  142. which causes extremely severe, life-threatening bleeding in
  143.  
  144. future pregnancies.  A woman is 600% more likely for this to
  145.  
  146. happen if she has had an abortion prior to the conception of
  147.  
  148. this child.  Many woman also retain their placentas after an
  149.  
  150. abortion.
  151.  
  152.      Certain groups of woman are at higher risks after an
  153.  
  154. abortion than others.  Woman under 20 years of age face a
  155.  
  156. 200% greater risk of having complications in general, when
  157.  
  158. compared to women aged 25-29.  These woman are the highest
  159.  
  160. risk group as far as facing immediate medical attention after
  161.  
  162. an abortion for problems such as bleeding, infection, and
  163.  
  164. part of the baby still being the womb.  This group of women
  165.  
  166. are faced with a 150% greater risk of some type of cervical
  167.  
  168. injury as compared to women over 30.
  169.  
  170.      There are so many reasons for a woman to not want to
  171.  
  172. have an abortion, it is impossible to think of any reason why
  173.  
  174. a woman to have one.  If you can't think of what the
  175.  
  176. concequences for having an abortion are after reading this
  177.  
  178. report, just ask any parent what life would be like without
  179.  
  180. their kids.
